General interest -
"Molly" and around 1000 other craft will pass down the Thames through central London in the most impressive Maritime spectacle of our lifetime.
"We expect at least one million people lining the route ... " - The QDJP official website

"Molly" is allocated to the leading flotilla. 9th from the front and 3rd from the right.

The Pageant route is approximately 7 miles long.
The full route including the mustering and dispersal areas runs from Hammersmith to Greenwich Royal Naval College and is approximately 14 miles.
Vessels with sails too high to pass under London Bridge will line the river from London Bridge to Wapping creating an ‘Avenue of Sail’.

Royal barge - Official article.

BELOW HERE, just Technical & Navigational notes - Used by PW in compiling our Mollified Passage Plan etc. - Now mostly done and transferred to documents.

PW has worked out tidal heights. - (The anticipated Woolwich Barrier closure will create a relatively "steady state", but the level and flow rate are still worth knowing)
PW has calculated bridge clearances for the relevant time/tides. (WIth allowance for Barrier closure)

The Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant website will be open for vessel registration until 31 October 2011. The selection process will be finalised by 31 December 2011, and everyone who has been selected will have received an invitation to participate by then. Unsuccessful applicants will also have been notified by that date. All vessels must be both capable of passing under Westminster Bridge and able to maintain a steady speed of four knots. If not, they will be ineligible to take part. They can be motorised or man-powered but must be registered in the UK or overseas. The full complement of participating vessels should be published on the website by 1 March 2012. As the flotilla is restricted to about 1,000 vessels, and a considerable response is anticipated, it is unlikely that all applicants will be able to be accommodated.
